Corset FAQs — Straight Answers From Lucky Doll

Most first-timers need about 2 to 3 weeks of "seasoning" — wearing your corset a couple hours a day and gradually working up to longer stretches. Your body needs time to adjust to the shape, and your corset needs time to mold to you. Start loose, go slow, and never lace to the point of pain. By week three, most of our customers say it feels like a snug hug instead of a squeeze.

A thin, snug-fitting cotton or moisture-wicking liner is your best friend here. It protects your skin from the boning, absorbs sweat (hello, Manila heat), and helps your corset stay fresher between washes. Skip anything with thick seams or lace trim underneath — you want it smooth so it doesn't create pressure points or show through.

Some people find that a well-fitted corset offers extra back support and helps them sit or stand taller day-to-day, but we're not doctors, and a fashion corset is not a medical device. If you're managing scoliosis, please talk to your physician or a physical therapist before using a corset for support, and let them guide you on fit and wear time. We're always happy to help with sizing once you've got the green light.

Right here! Lucky Doll ships corsets nationwide across the Philippines, from Manila to the provinces. We carry a range of price points so you can find a quality corset that fits your budget without compromising on construction — because a cheap corset that falls apart in a month isn't actually a good deal.

Lucky Doll has been Manila's pin-up and burlesque specialty boutique since 2006 — we were one of the first body-positive intimate shops in the country, and our customers keep coming back (and telling their friends). Check out our reviews and tag us on Instagram to see real customers styling their Lucky Doll corsets.

Start with your natural waist measurement, then size down 4 to 6 inches for your first corset — that's a comfortable, safe reduction for a beginner. Don't buy your "goal" size; buy the size that lets you breathe and move today, and let your waist training progress from there. Our sizing guide walks you through exactly how to measure, and our team is always around to double-check before you order.

Overbust corsets worn as statement outerwear (think festival looks and OOTDs), underbust corsets layered over blouses for a Y2K-meets-pin-up mashup, and classic waist cinchers for everyday shaping under regular clothes are all having a moment right now. Pin-up and burlesque silhouettes never really went away here — they just keep getting remixed.

Grab a soft measuring tape and measure three spots: your natural waist (the narrowest part, usually right above your belly button), your bust at the fullest point, and your high hip about 8 inches below your waist. Keep the tape snug but not tight, breathe normally, and measure in front of a mirror if you can. Compare those three numbers to our size chart on each product page to find your best fit.
